François Revol 5bea2b386b we don't use major/minor, but that's not a reason to change the display. device sizes as reported by stat() are always 0 anyway.

Ingo Weinhold 39c9d198ea * Moved strace source into separate subdirectory. 
* Now syscall names and parameters are printed. const char* parameters
  and return values are retrieved from the client and printed as string.
* Missing are still color output (does consoled support that?) and
  searching for given commands in the PATH. Nothing besides the standard
  mode has been tested yet, so it's probably not working.

Axel Dörfler febccfbfc6 If update_mime_info() could not determine the MIME type, it now just set 
the information it has from the translator itself. Maybe this functionality
should be done in the Translation Kit as well if the output stream is a file.

Axel Dörfler 9324698b19 Almost complete rewrite of the translate command. Fixed broken argument 
parsing and type code conversion.
Some additions/changes to the original:
- now prints the version information in the new versioning scheme (base 16)
- added optional --verbose parameter that gives information about the
  translations needed to get the output format.
- "--list" can be constraint with a type - only translators that support
  this type are listed then.
- also accepts type codes like "RTF" and automatically adds spaces in
  this case to create the 'RTF ' type.

Axel Dörfler 3682eb4fcb Changed the default for tab completion of symlinks to directories; as of 
bash 2.05 you would have to press the tab key twice to get the "/" appended
at the end - not anymore :)

Stephan Aßmus 7696124772 allocating buffers of size known at runtime is a GCC feature, now allocates on the heap, but it should be rewritten to write smaller chunks of the attribute at a time to support potentially huge ammounts of attribute data, but not tonight

Waldemar Kornewald 75d0f2ba9b Finished the UI stuff. Not tested, though. If everything works as expected (I doubt it ;) you should see a little window prompting your login before connecting. It also allows canceling a connection attempt. After you establish a connection you should see an ugly Deskbar replicant. Click on it to see connection statistics and to disconnect.

Axel Dörfler cfa4cb788c Now uses DataEditor::AttributeRef() where appropriate. 
The definition of BEOS_R5_COMPATIBLE is no longer necessary, due to improvements
to our build system.
For root directories, the attributes are now taken from that directory; previously,
only the device was tested for attributes (which doesn't have any in BeOS).

Axel Dörfler 9e98ea36fd The DataEditor now has a separate entry_ref for attributes - that's used 
to have access to the attributes of a root directory. Internally, only
this ref is used when accessing attribute data.
Also fixed an initialization bug in case the stream couldn't be properly
opened; some values were just set too late (could lead to strange things
as well as a crash).

Axel Dörfler d8e0549fd4 ArgvReceived() no longer calls Probe() directly, but builds a BMessage 
for RefsReceived().
Probe() now accepts a BEntry instead of an entry_ref, and all entries, too;
unacceptable nodes should be sorted out before.
RefsReceived() now sorts out BDirectories and will open one alert for
all directories, no longer one for each.
Added temporary hidden feature: pressing shift when opening a file will
make it possible to open symlinks and directories (to be able to access
their attributes).

Axel Dörfler 61784ba644 The DataEditor class now only redirects root directories to volumes; it 
can now also open directories and symlinks, in which case nothing can be
done (but theoretically, the attributes could be changed).
