Axel Dörfler 1af95f17b5 Obviously, the GeForce 7600 GS has two different device IDs. This should close
bug #916.

Axel Dörfler 1411be7744 * Fixed a crashing bug when creating a long symlink - there was no file cache
created in this case but used later on.
* The length of a long symlink was one too short, and was thus always losing
  the last character.

Axel Dörfler 378218a432 Added some ASSERTs that the Index::Update*/Insert*/Remove*() methods are used
only for inodes that maintain those indices.

Axel Dörfler a9831b73ed CheckInode() could find an invalid data stream for symlinks without a data stream;

Axel Dörfler bd50618697 The keyboard_device now also acts as the target for input method messages from
the input method aware view.
This was necessary to support stopping an input method on the fly: if you press
the dead key first, then change to another view and press a key that is changed
by the dead key, the resulting key now reaches its target, and will no longer
be ignored.

Axel Dörfler d32e5bae5e The keyboard input device is now using the new inline-only input method extension
for dead keys - IOW you'll now see dead keys in BTextViews as you would see real
input methods like canna. Non-input-method-aware views won't see a difference to
the previous behaviour, though.

Axel Dörfler b735e46de3 Extended input method protocol a bit: you can now set "be:inline_only" to true, which
means that no bottomline window will be opened in case the current view is not input
method aware.
Instead, only the confirmed B_INPUT_METHOD_CHANGE event will be translated to a message
the view will understand - this message must be part of the event in the "be:translated"
member.

Axel Dörfler 3956f772e1 No longer ignores the text that comes with a confirmed B_INPUT_METHOD_CHANGED
event; it now only deactivates the inline in that case.

Axel Dörfler b01a3a33a6 * Implemented node monitoring: if you change the interfaces settings file, the
networking stack is reconfigured automatically.
* The previous default route is now removed before installing a new one.

  and thus, it was only set to a default value in case there was no settings
  file.

Axel Dörfler 122a163324 The mouse event window will already be reset in RemoveWindow() (through HideWindow());

Axel Dörfler 8c68eab694 Fixed two different bugs that could cause bug #896:
* the app's Activate() method was called unsafely; the ServerApp pointer could

  or even was the mouse event window (was currently dragged over the screen)
  the focus was not moved to another window.

Axel Dörfler 2e95d2f425 Fixed a bunch of bugs in the net_buffer implementation; it didn't crash before,
but it also didn't create valid buffers in a number of cases:
* remove_header() did not work correctly if more than one node had to be
  removed or came after the first node to be kept.
* prepend_size() did not update the offset of the following nodes.
* write_data() and read_data() both did not update the data pointer, and thus
  always copied the same data to every node.
* merge_buffer() inserted the nodes in the wrong order when prepending a buffer.
* added a dump_buffer() function and lots of additional debug output (currently
  commented out)
* simplified split_buffer() a bit more.
* implemented remove_trailer().

duplicates, and loopback does work now as well.

Axel Dörfler d593e74a27 First steps towards being able of collapse vm_cache objects after forking:
* a vm_cache now maintains a list of its "consumer" caches.
* introduced to new functions that add/remove consumer to a cache (instead
  of only maintaining the vm_cache::source field).
* fixed the incorrect reference counting when doing copy-on-write; we kept
  one ref too many of the lower cache.
* minor cleanup.

Axel Dörfler ecf0475ad0 Porting r18992 to the R5 version of BFS (and therefore, bfs_shell used to build the
Haiku image) revealed a problem with that change:
* If the root node only contained a single entry it was freed instead of just making
  it a leaf node - that could produce an invalid b+tree (could only happen with
  attribute or index trees, as directories always contain '.' and '..').

Axel Dörfler 0d01edbaba Fixed a stupid bug found by accident:
* When removing the last key from a leaf node, the node wasn't freed, but just
  emptied, and thus the whole tree structure would never combast.
* This could also cause a bug in the TreeIterator: if the last entry was not
  in the last node, every second readdir() after the last one would return
  the last entry again. I only found this because that happens to be what
  Tracker does (which would run in an endless loop while scanning the directory
  then).
* Minor cleanup.
