Surprisingly, after disabling the new Markdown support in the Doxyfile,
everything else pretty much worked out of the box. Only a number of CSS
changes were needed to adapt.
I wonder why nobody ever did this back in 2012 when 1.8 first came out...
Previously it would warn only below 20MB of free space, if this was
less than 10% of the drive's capacity. This is obviously ridiculous now.
The first suggested patch used a simple 10% as the new criteria, but that's
a little high -- 100GB out of a 1TB drive is still a bunch of space left.
5% seems like a more appropriate choice here, and preserves a behavior
closer to the original 20MB on smaller (older) drives (5% of 500MB = 25MB.)
If this turns out to be too annoying for some users, we can make the check
more refined than it is now, but I don't think that will be necessary.

The LegacyPackageInstaller's data folder is (and has always been)
"~/config/packages", which is of course the same directory that Haiku's
(relatively) new package management system uses. We don't want the
"administrative" folder and any HPKGs in that directory to show up in
the "installed legacy packages" list, so ignore them.
It doesn't work, however; it throws an error message about failing to connect
to a port, which I presume was caused by the launch_daemon changes. If
Axel could take a look at it, that'd be much appreciated...
I've no idea why this was what "save image" did, but apparently it's
done so since this code was imported into the trunk in the very first
commit. Now it saves PNGs, which is what users expect.

Qt Creator now has a "generic project" mode, in which it just acts
as an auto-completing code editor. I tried using it on the entire
Haiku project at once, but it's just too much for Qt Creator to handle.
So instead, I created a script which generates project files for
any given directory in the tree, as well as sets up the proper include
directories. The project files themselves are .gitignore'd; use the script
to create them.
Works on Haiku. Did not test on Linux with a crosstools setup; but
it should work there too.
It appears this would only happen when opening a new window (not an
existing one) for a folder that was set to icon-view.
Regression from hrev48734 (Layout API commit). Fixes#13000.
A few weeks back, I spotted in the Musl FAQ that they apparently ship
empty libm.a and libpthread.a files (https://www.musl-libc.org/faq.html),
which they said was for POSIX compatibility. A bit of digging got me to
http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/utilities/c99.html which
says:
> It is unspecified whether the libraries libc.a, libl.a, libm.a, libpthread.a,
> librt.a, [OB] [Option Start] libtrace.a, [Option End] libxnet.a, or liby.a
> exist as regular files. The implementation may accept as -l option-arguments
> names of objects that do not exist as regular files.
So to follow the letter of the law, we only need to have the "c99" command
accept these; however, it appears all Linux and BSD cstdlibs accept them
no matter what compliance mode is in effect.
Discussed with PulkoMandy. This will make HaikuPorts' job a lot easier...
Originally, the tmp folder was in /boot/common, where it didn't show
an alert box. Since the move to /system, it simply fell into the general
"is in system directory" case.
Fixes#10173.
Matches the text used elsewhere on the system (and that of the "add-repo"
command.) You can still type a single character to confirm/deny.
Fixes#11260.
The only file in here was Deskbar.h, which just included the "real"
Deskbar.h. Considering nothing in-tree cares about this, and only
a small number of applications at HaikuArchives do, and that Haiku already
broke BeOS source compatibility in lots of other ways, let's just remove
this deprecated cruft.
We aren't really using Bullet itself; there are only two classes
(Quaternion and Vector3) which are from Bullet, and even they were
heavily modified. Furthermore, the Bullet license is really just the Zlib
license, which the Bullet source repository confirms (and you can see
by looking at its text.) It does not require attribution in documentation,
but only in the source code, and we aren't even using a substantial part
of it.
... as we obtained permission from Mark Kilgard to do so (see commit
c3eddfc0682b99f28ddbe33a14dadc40dc5b5f71.) So update AboutSystem and
the licenses directory to reflect that.
This file was introduced with the rationale that bots attempt to scrape
GitHub repositories for license data. GitHub now has an API for this,
and since all its sniffer rules fail because this file is not identical
to any known license, it just marks it "Other" and includes the full text
anyway.
Since this is the case, nobody else wants to look at all the licenses
in a single monolithic file, so we just put the explanatory message
and a reference to the directory containing all the licenses at the top
of the file, and include only the MIT license.
Also, GitHub renders Markdown nicer than it does plain text, so use that
(which matches what we already do for READMEs.)
Discussed with kallisti5 and PulkoMandy before committing. So far, the
only bugs since korli's recent changes either are minor ones that don't
appear to affect functionality (e.g. #12860), or so bad that nothing works
(so, just as good as if the controller was disabled.) PulkoMandy reports
that his controller works but wasn't whitelisted, as have some other users,
so I'm enabling it by default.
If there turn out to be too many broken devices, we can revert this. Or only
revert it in the beta branch, if needed.
The test in the previous commit had a totally flawed invocation of strcmp().
I probably shouldn't attempt to write C code without consulting the manual.
Even if it had worked, it would have worked on too many cases, including
some volume paths. So I reordered the if statement and added it in there.
This includes FSCopyAttributesAndStats as well as an older version of
FSGetDeskDir, and adds another alias of FSGetTrashDir. Fixes BeIDE
compatibility.
BPoseView::NewFileFromTemplate does not want to copy the times. Fixes#11702.
We have to keep a 2-argument version of this function because it looks like
some third-party applications might call it (e.g. Dockbert), and even
though it's technically private API, it's easy enough to preserve binary
compatibility.
If the pose matches the current type-ahead filter, it will be added
by the node watcher anyway, so this just created duplicate poses
which messed up internal data structures. Fixes#11122.
This is instead of just checking for NVIDIA devices. Also add an entry
for Intel 0x2668 (VirtualBox's HDA controller). Gets HDA a bit further
in VirtualBox, but an acquire_sem() times out later on.
OpenSSL's default cipherlist has a lot of spurious and arguably insecure
suites left in it for compatibility reasons. We have no need for all that,
so let's just use the suites Firefox/Chrome do.
Was introduced in fa2dd9c45f, but was
causing weird problems (leaving stray '.o's around the tree.) The problem
was that it didn't have a space before the semicolon on the "SubDir" line,
which also ate the following UseHeaders directive, which also meant
that running "jam" inside a subdirectory was broken between that commit
and this one.
Based upon a HTML5 fractal engine by @kerwizzy (relicensed as MIT and copyright
assigned to Haiku, Inc. with permission from the author). Hacky and a mess,
but it works, and has the potentiality to be much nicer than the previous
Mandelbrot app.
Already supports rendering & zooming in, but has hacks all over the place.
It literally did nothing except look nice^W^W^W^Wterrible, as it didn't
use the Layout Kit and it pre-dates the Haiku coding style (last "real"
modification was sometime before 2005). Supposedly it saved its settings
to disk but I can't find that.
See the "pppconfig" and "ppp_up" applications in src/bin/network for
something that actually works (though the modem stuff in the kernel PPP
stack hasn't been rewritten, so those are PPPoE only at the moment.)
So people aren't tempted to make .pkg files for x86_64/ARM/etc, and
because there should be no reason to have it there.
