drivers in the future, such that NetworkStatus and similar software can show
nice names for the devices. The device manager should implement this and
return the B_DEVICE_PRETTY_NAME of the device (and in turn, new style drivers
should actually set this).
* Implemented handling of this ioctl in the scsi_periph to return the vendor/
product strings.
* Implemented this in the ATA bus manager to return the model from the info
block.
* KDiskDevice now fills in the partition_data::name if the B_GET_DEVICE_NAME
succeeds.
* As a side effect, at least BootManager now shows the drive name; maybe
DriveSetup does as well for the raw device.

ShowImageWindow using a BMessageRunner.
* Note, this is completely untested, as it turns out my Haiku installation on
this box is too old to run it. It compiles, at least, and shouldn't break
anything else.

* Do not change the wizard buttons after they have been updated already due to
the selection when building the UI.

(where the BIOS loads the stage1 part to).
* Therefore, I moved the BIOS drive to the stack, and now the boot menu finally
actually works.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@40167 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
* Added TODO about merging AssembleNasm with AssembleYasmBin rules.

git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@40155 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
* Added a comment to LegacyBootMenu.cpp on how to conveniently test the boot
manager, and its menu.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@40151 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
as when the boot menu entry has a 0 BIOS drive. This allows the boot loader to
be installed on any drive.
* Implemented BootDrive class, and changed LegacyBootMenu the way it should
work now. Installing the boot menu should now work again, and the first time
while installing Haiku.
* Removed MakeArray.cpp - we already have such a tool in our repository.
* Build BootLoader.h automatically during the build process - the only
disadvantage is that you can only build it on x86 now (but other systems
don't use this boot loader, anyway).
* In general, the BootManager is prepared to handle different kinds of boot
menus; one only needs to write a class BootMenu implementation for this to
work - and have the possibility to choose between different menus, if there
are more than one per platform/partitioning system.
* Renamed quite a few methods.
* Automatic whitespace cleanup.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@40149 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
Note, the BootManager might not work right now, anymore.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@40130 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
most pages do now, albeit it's not perfect yet due to issues with BTextView,
and BScrollView that make them very inconvenient to use with the layout API.

the initial value from the "interface" settings file.
* The setting should now work as expected.
* Also consider interfaces in configuring state as being automatically managed.

and that allows you to force a specific network upon start. That setting isn't
restored yet when you launch Network, though.
* Also, it shows two bugs in the layout engine.

BNetworkInterface::AutoConfigure() method.
* Moved methods around to reflect their declaration order.
* Removed unused _PrepareRequest().

you need to have it configured in your "interfaces" settings file. This could
look like this:
network my-ssid-name {
authentication wep
password gurkensalat
}
Of course, the cleartext password will go away in the future.

the detected defaults with your own values.
* Implemented joining open and WEP networks - this is pretty much untested,
though.

* Removed unused code from NetworkDevice.cpp - doesn't look like we're going
to use it anymore.

far I've only seen WPA2, and WPA networks.
* Have wlan_test show this extra info.

and parsing the extra station data to retrieve the authentication details.
Comments welcome.
* NetworkStatus should now mark the currently associated network (if any).
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39774 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
the correct sender MAC address in outgoing link level packets.
* SocketStatus() now also works correctly for bound protocols, ie. receiving
data from a bound link level socket is now working as well.

* Unflatten() will now check whether the size of the buffer was large enough
to hold a valid address.

shortcuts to StyledEdit - thanks a lot!
* Minor style changes.

instead.
* Also actually implemented the serializing functionality this time, as usual
completely untested, though :-)
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39677 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
* BTW, the tests work on GCC4 just fine, only the GCC2 build doesn't work, so
it's likely to be a newly introduced compiler problem as those tests worked
under BeOS fine.

* Minor cleanup.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39673 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
* Note that our tests currently don't work because overloading BTestShell
doesn't seem to work (the overridden LoadDynamicSuites() is never called).
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39634 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
* Extended app_server_debug command to be able to send it, too.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39599 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
This makes the code much cleaner and simpler.
* Completely untested, though (will do that next).
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39595 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
Note, the BTextControl doesn't work correctly with its layout items, if
present. I'll open a bug report for that.
* Disallow spaces as well for the internal type name.
* Minor cleanup.

* Style cleanup.

great example at getting senile - at least he told me about this solution
before; the same trick is already used in SetZoom()).
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39527 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96

* Don't queue more pictures if we can only use a single CPU, and the queue is
already busy.

the syslog/serial output.
* Added app_server_debug command that currently just sends this command to the
specified teams.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39441 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96
menu item that just does that. Additionally, the image is always fit to the
window size when first shown, or if the full screen mode switches.
That also fixes#6765, and #6810.
* The ImageCache now also passes a referenced BitmapOwner object, and bitmaps
are now actually freed when it's allowed to.
* Pressing the zoom button will cause ShowImage to enter full screen again. For
some reason this has been removed as part of r19540.
* The progress window is now visible again, although not that often, as you will
only see it for images that were not in the queue already. The window is now
known to the ShowImageWindow instead of the ShowImageView.
* Moved most constants out of ShowImageConstants.h to where they belong.
* Dropping an image now opens it in another window.
* Removed EntryMenuItem as it's no longer used anywhere.
* Minor other cleanup.
git-svn-id: file:///srv/svn/repos/haiku/haiku/trunk@39431 a95241bf-73f2-0310-859d-f6bbb57e9c96

an invalid META:PPATH attribute.
* _ResolveApp() now also sets the _wasDocument variable correctly for the
_TranslateType() case. This lets _LaunchApp() properly detected invalid
META:PPATH attributes.

a translator as well, this might just be expected.
* Minor style cleanup.

method to indicate the signal quality.
* If a wireless driver is found, we now use the new BNetworkDevice class to
retrieve a list of known networks, and show them in the popup menu. You can't
do anything with this list yet, though (ie. you cannot connect this way yet).
* Use the new BNetworkRoster/BNetworkInterface class to retrieve the list of
interfaces, and the flags for an interface instead of using ioctls.
* Removed the about menu item for now.
* Minor coding style cleanup.
