Ingo Weinhold 61b83cc210 * Changed my doxygen comment markers from Qt to javadoc style, still 
leaving the tags Qt style though. That's a bit weird, but that's the
  way Axel likes it, and we want to keep him happy, don't we? ;-P
* The common_[path_]read_stat() now fills in st_dev and st_ino in the
  result stat structure after the FS had its go. The information is
  readily available in the VFS, so why bother the FSs. In fact devfs
  didn't (and still doesn't) fill in st_dev which gave dev_for_path()
  some head ache.
* Modified _user_open_parent_dir() to accept a NULL buffer for the
  entry name and added a doxygen comment for it.

df now works properly on Haiku (save that printf() doesn't support
floating point numbers at the moment).

Ingo Weinhold 86170a3cd5 * Got rid of devfs_cookie::stream. It was superfluous since one can 
always also access it through the devfs_vnode. This also solves an issue
  in devfs_read() where an access of a cookie->stream would crash the
  kernel, since cookie->stream was not set in devfs_open().
* devfs_open() now doesn't fail for directories and symlinks anymore.
  That prevented BNode to work for devfs dirs and symlinks.

Ingo Weinhold 1dae20235b If the /..' is /' then the name of the root node should consequently be 
`.'. This fixes the _kern_open_parent_dir() syscall for the root directory.

I realized, that rootfs_read_dir() doesn't return the entries `.' and `..',
unlike Be's rootfs. Shall I add those, Axel?

Ingo Weinhold 6fec58934a We automatically generate what information are available from syscalls.h, 
which from now on relieves us from the duty to maintain syscalls.S and

Ingo Weinhold efd87ab8df Had to change the mechanism for automatically generating most of the 
boring syscall stuff. It has two phases now: The first one
(gensyscallinfos) parses syscalls.h and generates a source file containing
all the required information. This file is compiled and linked to
gensyscalls, which generates the actual output files.
Added to the build.

Ingo Weinhold db10640de9 Got rid of the Storage Kit's kernel abstraction layer, which was 
unfortunately quite slow and made some things more complicated than they
needed to be.
Implemented a few missing things (e.g. BSymLink and node locking).

Ingo Weinhold 8485888933 This should be a bit nicer: Just maintain the grist of the supplied 
target instead of using the one from the current subdir. Should make
no difference in practice but is more correct this way.

BTW, fixes should rather go into a fixes branch to keep them separate
from new/changed features that won't be included into Perforce jam.

Ingo Weinhold 02f13c4aae The header and the jamfile cache both normalize the paths of target files now. This should avoid that jamming from another directory invalidates teh cache due to differing relative paths.

Ingo Weinhold 59f2d9c1c7 Updated to reflect changes relative to jam 2.5rc3. 
NOTE: The current HEAD version is almost untested. After merging in the
2.5rc3 changes it had been quite a bit of work to make the beast compile
properly again. Only very little testing has been done yet.

Ingo Weinhold 5abde301c1 Changed the behavior of Contains(const char*, int32): It does not longer 
return true, if the directory is not initialized, or if the directory
does not contain the entry, but the given path is absolute. This change
makes it less compatible with R5, but more consistent with the BEntry*
version and undoubtfully more compatible with common sense.

Ingo Weinhold 7669b69fd4 Added a new flag to the parameters of the *SymLink rules specifying 
whether or not the symlink shall be made a dependency of the pseudo target
`files' (i.e. will be made by default) and shall be removed upon `jam
clean'.
Fixed the symlink installation rules to always pass `false' for this param.

Ingo Weinhold 60c9c40fc9 Whoa, it seems I completely forgot to check that in. 
* Changed StaticLibrary and SharedLibrary to allow grist for the
  library name. It will be appended to the constructed name.
* Changed the default of the third parameter of StaticLibrary to
  the objects directory. Moreover the literal string STATIC_LIBRARY_DIR
  can be supplied in which case the respective directory in the distro

Ingo Weinhold 8c17a26b5c The configure script now sets the variable GCC_RAW_VERSION which is 
parsed in Jamrules into a list (`.' and `-' are considered delimiters)
written into GCC_VERSION. E.g. for the GeekGadgets compiler expect
GCC_VERSION to be set to `2 9 beos 000224'. So, GCC_VERSION[1] should
contain the major version, GCC_VERSION[2] the middle one.
