In our C library we try to provide a "clean" POSIX/ISO-C set of include
files that strictly conforming applications can use. However, we also
want to provide some extensions that are commonly available in BSD or
GNU systems.
These are normally provided in a separate directory
(headers/compatibility/bsd) and additionally guarded by compiler defines
that can either be explicitly set, or enabled by default if the language
standard (selected from the compiler command line) is one with GNU
extensions (this is the default for GCC). This is controlled by a header
file called features.h.
However, for some headers it is not so simple to split the GNU
extensions apart from the other parts of the file, because it's not just
extra functions, but additional flags and defines.
So, we need the "features.h" mechanism to be available even in the base
set of headers, but not enable anything if the BSD headers are not in
the search path. The simplest way to achieve this is to have an empty
features.h in the base set of headers, that can then be overriden by the
one in headers/compatibility/bsd if needed.

The original Linux extfs was short lived (less than a year) and is long
forgotten. Still, to avoid any confusion, it's better to refer to our
filesystem as ext4 (even if it is backwards compatible with versions 2
and 3).
Mention all 3 versions in the "pretty name" to be even clearer about
this.
Previously this was called "ext2" but people then assume that it does
not handle the later upgrades in versions 3 and 4 (which makes sense).
This disables -Werror for the use of old GCC extensions listed here:

We do not apparently use any of those anymore (if we ever did). I think
this was accidentally enabled at the same time as
deprecated-declarations (which we still need, for example because we
still have some uses of auto_ptr).

use offsetof on them. They are wrapped in an easier to use C++ API.
This resolves a lot of problems with the previous code: warnings caused
by the use of offsetof as well as a much simpler instanciation of the

Also fixed another problem with UUIDs, where the UUIDs were handled by
pointers in a lot of place where it was not necessary. Use references

An effort was started some time ago to consolidate all internal
documentation in the git tree. However, this was just an accumulation of
files in various formats without any strucutre or way to browse it,
which results in no one even knowing that we have docs here.
This converts most of the files to restructuredtext and uses Sphinx to
generate an HTML browsable user manual (with a table of content and a
first attempt to put things in a global hierarchy).
There are almost no changes to the documentation content in this commit
(some obviously obsolete things were removed). The plan is to get the
toolchain up and running to make these docs easily available, and only
then see about improving the content. We can migrate some things off the
wiki and website, and rework the table of contents to have some more
hierarchy levels because currently it's a bit messy.

DriveSetup does not make it clear when there is empty space or when a
partition is not formatted. Reword things a bit to make this easier to

This was a common source of confusion in various video reviews of Haiku,
with people trying to install Haiku to a partition that had not been
formatted.
Part of #16304
Regression introduced in hrev54742 which used DeskTextColor() on a
non-desktop view. The view color isn't set anywhere in that case and
does not match the background color, which led to drawing white text on
a white background.
Moreover, a second bug was stacked on that: the selection is drawn in
"reverse video" (using the document color for the text and document text
color for the background) only for active windows. For inactive ones, it
is drawn normally, and then a middle-grey rectangle is alpha blended on
top. Add a comment to clarify that and reintroduce the ckeck that had
been removed.
Also replace the hardcoded black for the selection background, so it
will be more easily visible for people using dark mode.
Fixes#16627.
They were accidentally removed in hrev54634 in an attempt to clean up
the code.
Reintroduce the old logic with some cleanup and improvements:
- There was a mixup of "tab side" vs "border". The constant values for
the two are the same, so it still worked as designed, but it made the
code harder to follow since it deals with both borders and tab sides.
- Define an isVertical boolean to decide if the tab view is vertical,
avoiding repeated tests for specific tabview sides.

The SDHCI spec also offers an "advanced DMA" mode where we can use
scatter-gather lists. It would allow to remove several of the DMA
restrictions, but hardware support for it is optional, so we need this
version anyway.
The geometry is retrieved on demand in the first read or write or in a
call to the get geometry or get device size ioctl. It is not possible to
retrieve it from the device initialization because that is called as
part of the mmc_bus scanning, which needs a specific sequence of
commands and keeps the bus locked to prevent drivers to insert their own
commands in the middle of that sequence.
TODO:
- Move the DMA restrictions definition to sdhci_pci and forward it up to
