Ingo Weinhold 32cae72412 package daemon: Handle location info request in app thread
* ... instead of queuing it for the job thread. The advantage is that
the request will be handled immediately and clients won't have to wait
for transactions (which may even require user feedback) to finish. It
complicates Volume a bit, since there are now two threads that may
access it. The shared data have been moved to a State object which is
protected by a lock.
* For commit transaction requests check whether another package request
is already pending/in progress before queuing a job. Fail immediately,
if there is.

Fixes bug #10039.

Ingo Weinhold d5ed97cd18 LibsolvSolver::GetResult(): Fix package update cases
* The transaction_type(.., ..., SOLVER_TRANSACTION_RPM_ONLY)
categorization of the transaction steps is incorrect since rpm
automatically replaces an older package version when a new one is
installed and thus such package removals would be omitted. Use a
simpler check instead.
* Omit the unnecessary explicit check whether a package really has to be
installed.

Thanks to Michael Schroeder @ SUSE for his help figuring this out.

Ingo Weinhold 73ac4cdc3f truncate_string(): Be a lot laxer wrt. rounding incaccuracies
Instead of 1/10000 we now add 1/128 to the width to compensate for
rounding inaccuracies. Due to the limited float mantissa precision
(23 bit) the previous value would already have no effect for relatively
small widths (>= 128).

Fixes #10455.

Ingo Weinhold 902fd96ce2 MimeInfoUpdater: Don't touch the MIME DB
Use the new SetIconForType() and SetSupportedTypes() versions and

only modify the (application) file attributes, now. Addresses #10453.

Ingo Weinhold ee2974dadb mime/Database: Add SetIcon[ForType]() BBitmap* version
When switching AppMetaMimeCreator from BMimeType to Database the
SetIcon[ForType]() calls with a BBitmap* ended up calling the vector

not writing the bitmap icon attributes, but also clobbering the vector
icon attribute.

Ingo Weinhold 6ef57ae2a9 pkgman: Add full-sync command
* BSolver/LibsolvSolver: Add FullSync() method. It uses libsolv's
SOLVER_DISTUPGRADE mode.
* BPackageManager: Add FullSync() using the new solver mode.
* pkgman: Add full-sync command.

The new command is similar to the update command without arguments, just
more aggressive, allowing downgrading or even removal of packages, to
match the state of the repositories. Just like "update" it doesn't work
properly yet.

Ingo Weinhold 8540ec2446 Save previous session's debug syslog during boot
Add boot loader debug menu option "Save syslog from previous session
during boot". If enabled (defaults to true), the previous session's
debug syslog data is copy to a separate buffer and passed to the
kernel, which writes it back to the file /var/log/previous_syslog.
As long as Haiku still boots, this should now be the most convenient way
to retrieve the output from a kernel crash.

Ingo Weinhold 495b360b6b Add support for explicitly preventing rebuilding packages
Due to depending on dynamically built files, package files will always
be rebuilt when they are needed (e.g. when an image is built). The build
variable HAIKU_DONT_REBUILD_PACKAGES can be defined to prevent
rebuilding existing package files (even ones that are out-of-date).

Main target for this change is buildbot. We want to make sure that the
packages in the repository it builds are exactly identical to the ones
in the images, which may not be the case when the packages are rebuilt
(due to different timestamps of contained files). The respective build
order should be:

1. Build repository.
2. Without cleaning the generated directory, build different image types
   with HAIKU_DONT_REBUILD_PACKAGES defined.

* Draw(): Fix off-by-one error. The label was too close to the box.
* Draw(), _ValidatePreferredSize(): Add icon support.
  _ValidatePreferredSize() is now actually aligned with what Draw()

The icon is meant as an addition to or replacement of the label. Icon
bitmaps for various states of the control (off, on, partially on, each

The convenience method SetIcon() can be used to set the bitmaps for the

icon to its non-transparent area. Code borrowed from BIconButton.

The introduction of secondary arch support for kernel files disabled
-Werror for all kernel files, since the -Werror flags were moved from
{CC,C++}FLAGS to TARGET_WARNING_{CC,C++}FLAGS_<arch>, which, however,
was overwritten by the SetupKernel rule. This commit introduces new
global variables {HAIKU,HOST,TARGET}_WERROR_FLAGS[_<arch>], which
contain the additional -Werror flags to be applied for the architecture.
The config variable WARNINGS can be set to "treatAsErrors" to cause
-Werror and {HOST,TARGET}_WERROR_FLAGS[_<arch>] to be appended to the
compilation flags.

Ingo Weinhold e551626f40 Implement support for a SYS:ENV attribute on executable
__flatten_process_args() does now have the executable path as an
additional (optional) parameter. If specified, the function will read
the file's SYS:ENV attribute (if set) and use its value to modified the
environment it is preparing for the new process. Currently supported
attribute values are strings consisting of "<var>=<value>" substrings
separated by "\0" (backslash zero), with '\' being used as an escape
character. The environment will be altered to contain the specified
"<var>=<value>" elements, replacing a preexisting <var> element (if
any).

A possible use case would be setting a SYS:ENV attribute with value
"DISABLE_ASLR=1" on an executable that needs ASLR disabled.

doesn't fix it completely. As long as ASLR is active, it is always
possible that something else (mapped shared objects, heap, stack) is in
the way.

Ingo Weinhold 065e6eb2f4 ramdisk: Support file backing
* When registering a ram disk, a file can be specified. Its content will
  be loaded into the ram disk:
    echo register <file> > /dev/disk/virtual/ramdisk/control
* At any time changes to the ram disk data can be written back to the
  file:
    echo flush /path/to/ramdisk > /dev/disk/virtual/ramdisk/control
  If not explicitly written back, the changes will be lost on reboot.

Ingo Weinhold bf5786ebd6 pkgman search: Add -D/--details
* Add a detailed listing mode (-D/--details), which prints a table with
  repository/installation location name, package name, package version,
  package architecture.
* Make the normal listing more compact. Now there's only one row per
  package. The "Installed" column has been replaced by "Status" which
  displays if/where the package is installed and whether it matches the
  repository version.
