effect), and since the test was a bit too constraining (I have an LVDS panel on head A), it would prevent setting colors for the CMAP modes.
This finally gets the \n demo working from the original binary from BeOS, without any change.

* I got the downsampling version completely wrong. It should now be much better.
* A small bug in the delta calculation sometimes caused an off-by-one read to the source and a crash of the media add-on server
Effect of this resampler can be heard very clearly using the following setup in Cortex :
* Demo Audio producer producing a sinewave at any frequency (sampling rate is hardcoded at 44100Hz)
* Audio output set to 48000 Hz
* system mixer in between
select either resampler in the mixer and you'll hear the difference immediately.
Should finally fix#1351.

This gets sliders with custom, non-rectangle thumbs, like the one in APlayer or the example in the BeBook, working properly.
I hope it doesn't break anything - it doesn't seem to but I may have overlooked some pixels.
Fixes#7817.

There is nothing functional yet, I just wanted to try some ideas from the GCI results.
Code is mostly based on Web+ download window, which hapenned to match the mockups pretty well.
Icon is derived from Zumi's work (mix of two different icons)
Icon handling for apps themselves and categories is not done yet, because it depends on how they will be handled by the backend we chose
The install/remove/info buttons don't do anything yet.
Things I'm not sure about :
* What to put in the menu ? Should it replicate the icons at the bottom ?
* How to browse categories ? Is a "go up" button enough ? Should we have a BPopupMenu with all categories in a tree (I don't like menutrees in BPopupMenus...) ? A BOutlineListView would be wasting space... any other idea ?
* Should we keep textual buttons like this, or graphical ones like in the mockup ? Or maybe both ?

Thanks!

Again, review welcome on this in order to decide if we carry on asking students to write api reference pages.

I did rework the text a little.
I would like to get some careful review for this. Nielx put out the (valid) concern that he's not confident in random students with no previous Haiku experience to write the API reference.
I'd like to know if I should put online more of these tasks, or if I should stop now because the quality is too low.

* Also do some changes to ReadOnlyBootPrompt layouting to include some insets and similar stuff.
* Add country flags in the language selection menu
* Modify locale roster method for getting a flag so it is a bit more tolerant. It is case insensitive on the country code, and also works if given a full locale code such as pt_BR.
Known problems :
* The new BitmapTextView doesn't work well with the chinese text as it does line breaks only on space chars (0x20), and there is no such char in chinese text. However, the usual BTextView is also unable to do proper linebreaking. This should
be solved by using tools provided by ICU.
* The way I altered LocaleRoster is not as good as it could be. Locales with variants such as zh-hans are not going to work (the computed country code is now 'NS'). Not sure there is a better way
* The way the list is sorted in ReadOnlyBootPrompt is annoying as it prevents keyboard navigation. As the sorting changes each time you select a language, it's impossible to travel through the whole list. One possible solution is to do the
language change on invoking an item. Another one is to sort the languages in a locale-neutral way.

Note this leads to KDL if there is a write error, so it may not be the best way for a floppy...
This allows the driver to uninitialize properly when all devices are unplugged, which in turns permits updating the driver without rebooting to unload it.

The floppy icon is based on zumi's one. changes done :
* I made the floppy a bit thinner, it looked more like a zip100 cartridge
* I added an USB logo (or something that more or less looks like one) on the floppy label
* The logo only shows at big icon sizes since I couldn't get it looking good at small ones.
Feel free to improve.

This gets floppy writing working.

This is loosely based on usb_disk, but uses a different protocol for sending the commands.
Refactoring is unfinished, so don't look at the style too muh, it will e fixed and cleaned up later.
Basic communication with the drive works (sending commands). Command themselves still mostly untested.
Command Blocks sent to the drive are most likely wrong and may erase your floppies or do any other weird things!

This allows to use lower resolution screen modes with black border.
Added a set of TODOs :
* The smaller scren is not centered, but aligned top-left
* The base resolution used is the one reported from edid 1.1, because I'm still not sure how to parse EDID 1.2. This resolution is too small on my laptop, but it works.
Also added two ways of setting 8-to-6 dithering for 18-bit LVDS panel. No visible result for me, unfortunately.

* Read the EDID info on both port A (analog VGA monitor) and C (LVDS panel)
* If an LVDS panel is detected, report the EDID resolutions instead of the BIOs settings
This fixes#6326, likely #5096, and possibly some others intel_extreme problems. Please test.
On the other hand, this make the screen preflet show the full list of more reported by the LVDS panel. As we don't support
scaling, some of these modes are unuseable and lead to a garbled screen.
